After the surprising 3rd place in Group B of the Italian Serie B 2018/19 championship, Itas Trentino Under 20 is ready to return to the field in search of another prestigious result, still in the national field.

Starting from Thursday 23 May, the training coached by Francesco Conci will take place in Castellana Grotte (Bari,Italy) to compete in the Del Monte® Final Eight of the 27th edition of the Italian Under 20 championship organized by the Serie A Volleyball League and also called “ Serenelli Trophy - Junior League ”.

However, staying on the category podium will not be a simple task: the competition is in fact very substantial and the dense calendar of races will not offer breaks. The Gialloblù in the first phase were included in Pool F, which will see them opposed to the current Champions of Civitanova Marche, Padua and Modena. The other group (Pool E) is instead composed of the hosts of Castellana Grotte, Tuscania, Perugia and Santa Croce.

In the first two days the eight formations will give life to two Italian groups that will promote the first two in the semi-finals, scheduled for the evening of Friday 24 May. On Saturday 25th May the matches that will assign all the positions of the ranking will be played instead. The final for third place (11.30) and the one for the first (which will be broadcast live on Lega Volley Channel www.elevensports.it starting at 16.30) will be played at PalaGrotte.

The Itas Trentino will play the three matches of the group F therefore in rapid succession: the debut is scheduled on May 23rd at 9.00 against Modena, then at 17 it will be the moment of the challenge against Padova, while on May 24th at 9.30 am meeting against the Cucine Lube.

"We come to this appointment with a great desire to demonstrate our value and play high level competitions - explained coach Francesco Conci -. We have been included in a group of iron and we expect three battles with opponents of absolute value: taking a pass for the semi-finals will be very difficult, but it is the goal for which we want to fight. Our season was characterized by an exciting Serie B championship: the team is well established, with its mechanisms and its balance, and this aspect must be our main strength from which to start ”.

For Trentino Volley it will be the eleventh Junior League final of its history; in addition to the three first places in the 2010/11, 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons, there are also other prestigious placings, such as two second places (2009/10 and 2012/13), two third places (2011/12, 2017 / 18) and a fourth place (2006/07).
