Andreas Sander is the second of the German team this season who suffered from a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee and, like his team mate Thomas Dreßen, is out for the rest of the World Championship season. I had the similar shit three times which ended my football plans as young player.

The injury happened already end of December in a downhill training. Sander even managed with the rupture to score World Cup points in the downhill and in the Super-G the next day. So this news came as surprise for him as well.

After a few days off over the turn of the year, the complaints were only so great in the first training session of the year on Friday that a "routine examination" was supposed to clear up what was wrong. A trixky situation for our team who had high hopes for this seasons with Kitzbühel winner Dreßen, Gröden winner Josef Ferstl and Sander.
