My friend got some free tickets to a Canadian Wrestling Coalition show and he decided to take me along as his sidekick. It was terrible, it was amazing and I had a great time. It was s special event called headlocks of horror and they held they event in a pretty small room at an event center I wasn't even aware existed. My friend works near where the event was held and he had no clue they even held events inside the building. I had some pretty low expectations going in and ended up having a great time.

The acting was pretty bad and it seemed like the strategy was to give the microhone to the bad guy and have them proceed to trash talk the crowd to help get everyone fired up. They even engaged with the crowd a bit which was pretty cool. At one point the main bad guy was in a very one sided match against a poor little scrawny kid. The bad guy, Johnny Kick-Ass aka JKA and he had the other guy trapped in the corner and he was reigning down blows on him, so obviously I started a chant for the underdog. We were only three rows from the ring and JKA made eye contact with me and slammed down another blow on the little guy. He then yelled at me 'say it again!', so I proceeded to start the chant again, which led to the poor little guy taking another huge blow.

The other people in attendance were pretty into it. There was a group of guys on the other side of the room with a few signs that were pretty good. "JKA took my mom out and NEVER phoned her back!" , JKA was the bad guy that yelled at me so I really appreciated the sign. My friend decided he would start rooting for all the bad guys and lots of other fans, both young and old, started to chirp at him a bit. The more we got into the fights the more fun the night was.

This picture was from one of the cornier matches of the night. The dude in the speedo came out and started complaining about costume ruining wrestling and then proceeds to call out a guy in a bee suit in the audience (who was pretty clearly one of the wrestlers). Everytime the bee would get hit he would yell out "buzzz!" It made the match quite hilarious. At one point the Killer Bee was on his back in the ring and started flailing his arms and legs around like a bee would if they were stuck on their back. Pretty cheesy but also kinda hilarious.

The main event of the evening was a double elimination no holds bar tag team match. Wrestling wise is was head and shoulders above the rest of the action for the night. The was chairs and tables, they fought in the crowd, at one point one of the wrestlers was picking up fans and using them as battling rams (yes actual people from the crowd). The fight was about 30 minutes of mayhem that ended with all the wrestlers out from the dressing room throwing down in an all out war.

I had a great night and they come back again in a months time and I think we might have to head back once again and join in on the action.
