With little advertisement and lack of matches announced for the card, it seemed that WWE was dropping the ball on "Evolution."

Considered all things leading up to the event including Alexa Bliss not competing due to a concussion and Liv Morgan suffering the same issue post-match with Brie Bella. The card looked to be in jeopardy but the show turned out surprisingly good.

Besides a few botches, which was to be expected with immediate changes, the show was a good mixture of the attitude era and the women's revolution. This was shown during the elimination rumble when the women surrounded the former stars before a brawl broke out between the generations.

The matches of the night belonged to the Mae Young Classic finals between Toni Storm and Shirai and the NXT, Smackdown Live, and RAW championship matches.

The reason these matches are deemed the best is that they're all connected.

During the NXT match, history was made as Shayna Baszler became the first two-time NXT women's champion by defeating Kairi Sane with the help of Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, fellow MMA friends.

This connects to Rhonda Rousey beating Nikki Bella to retain her RAW Championship. This is the first time at a live event where we have the four MMA horsewomen together under the same roof.

With this being the case, Becky Lynch as the champion may lead the four WWE horsewomen as the two teams are said to face each other come Wrestlemania 2019.

Though the event was good, there were some things that could've made it more spectacular. The speculation that AJ Lee was returning for a one night only deal didn't happen as well as other stars who turned down the event altogether.

We still didn't get the women's tag team titles which made some of the team pairings kind of pointless. At some point, they will reveal the titles but might be another thing they're saving for Wrestlemania.
