Today I was thinking about the whole e-sports industry and how is growing so fast. Browsing the net I discovered that some guys have already earned more than 3.5 million USD through the esports. I am talking about Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi, a DOTA 2 professional gamer.

What I discovered later was that Liquid Team, a team of esports that boasts among its players the same KuroKy, has founded and created Liquipedia, a sort of Wikipedia for the esports world. A site containing an incredible number of information on the various tournaments, the various payouts, the various positions, the various exchanges between the esports clubs etc. I strongly recommend that you take a look at it: Liquipedia.net.

I've always been a fan of video games and the fascination that this world is having on me is quite important. The day I went to Barcelona Games World, I discovered a huge number of fans that continues to increase from day to day. The whole system seems like having to replace normal sports over time. The interest that there is from global giants that are outside this sector, makes it clear that you want or do not want, will be the future. But above all, it is already the present.

That Sunday in Barcelona in the room dedicated to League of Legend with the capacity to hold 1,500 people there was a line to enter from morning until evening. Once inside, listening to the opinions of the people inside, there was a mix of loyal children to LoL, children that play other games but they came to take a look at Lol and especially many boys and parents who, however, even without maybe understand a lot, they looked at the whole thing fascinated and interested.

The whole industry is booming, just look at Serie A, Liga and Premier League clubs that already have esports teams. Then, as I said before, giants that center little with video games like San Miguel or Vodafone or many others, are sponsoring esports clubs, events, fairs etc. The picture is clear. I have been living in Spain and Italy for the last 3 years and I can tell you that in Spain Moviestar, the strongest telephone and cable television company there is here, has created a 24h channel dedicated to esports. They have various teams competing in the national and international leagues of mainstream games such as Clash Royale, League of Legend, Dota 2, WoW, and many others.

You all know I'm a former poker player. In Italy for example Luca Pagano, who was the first face of poker, a boy who was sponsored in 2004 by Pokerstars and who was the face of this colossus for 13 years, left Pokerstars last year to form Qlash. Qlash is currently an esports club, with its own academy, with a house gaming and many other activities. In addition, Pagano is the creator of the LIVE circuit of Pokerstars tournaments and has various online media agencies including gaming and media marketing. The future is clear, and every person with a minimum of constancy and skill can make its way into this new e-world!
