Axel Witsel and Kevin Debruyne are unavailable for Belgium in their first game of the Euro 2020
Axel Witsel and Kevin Debruyne has not traveled with the rest of the Belgian national team to St. Petersburg, where they will start their European Championship tournament against Russia. Kevin De Bruyne was not expected to be ready for the first match after suffering an injury in the Champions League final, but Belgium will be missing another midfielder. Dortmund player Axel Witsel has not traveled with the squad either. He also stays in Belgium to care for an injury he sustained in a match against RB Leipzig back in January. the 32-year-old midfielder had to leave the field with an Achilles tendon which cost him the rest of the season. Kevin De Bruyne is expected to be ready for the match against Denmark in Copenhagen on Thursday, but there are no reports on Witsel, who also did not participate in some of the friendly matches. Alex Witsel has played 110 matches for the Belgian national team and Kevin De Bruyne had played a total of 80 matches.
