Haaland and Sancho fire Borussia Dortmund to German Cup Victory
Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho scored braces as Borussia Dortmund outplayed RB Leipzig 4-1 to lift the German Cup for a fifth time. English international Sancho opened the scoring before Haaland made it 2-0 inside 30 minutes of the pulsating match took place in the German capital Berlin. Sancho added his second in the first-half stoppage time, while Haaland completed the route late after Dani Olmo pulled one back for Leipzig. Julian Nagelsmann, who is leaving Leipzig to join rivals Bayern Munich next season, had been hoping to sign off his remarkable term with the German side with a deserving trophy. But the star players stepped in and put a complete performance to give Dortmund, who are not yet sure of a champions league place, their major silverware in the season. Haaland’s second was his 39th goal of the season from as many games.
