Last time they met
R18, 2017, Brisbane Lions 17.10 (112) d Carlton 11.16 (82) at the Gabba
- Beams and Zorko starred with 3 goals each
- Harry McKay played first game of the year
- Carlton started slowly and paid for it. A spirited comeback was short-lived as the Lions earned a 30 point win.
What I’m excited about
- Two (2) weeks of good effort sees us coming into the game with momentum.
- Marc Murphy committing to the team for 2 years is very important for the morale of the team.
- Murph's new role - I really enjoy seeing him play away from the middle and moving into it as the game wears on.
- We should get some more good players back in the side
- The Lions are travelling back from Perth which might impact their recovery.
- Charlie Curnow is in scintillating form and with Harris Andrews is out, it could be an opportunity to continue on with his form.
What I’m concerned about
- Make no mistake about it, this Lions team is ahead of us in terms of their rebuild.
- They are well structured, disciplined, and have the cohesion that we are looking for.
- Dayne Beams and Zorko really lead the lions well
IN - Thomas | O’Brien
OUT - Polson | Mullett
Kreuzer stays out, not confident he’s 100% and we have Phillips
Graham keeps his spot, but MUST perform this week
Prediction - Carlton by 14
