Indonesian taekwondo athlete, Defia Rosmaniar, managed to contribute the first gold to Indonesia at the 2018 Asian Games. Defia became the best in the women's poomsae individual number.

Compete in the 2018 Asian Games final at the Jakarta Convention Center on Friday (8/19), Defia successfully defeated Iran's representative, Salahshouri Marjan. Defia won with a score of 8,690 - 8,470.

Previously in the last 16, Defia got rid of Wong Kai Yu from Hong Kong, while in the quarter-finals he defeated Tuyet Van Chau from Vietnam.

In the semifinal round, Defia met with Korean representative Jihye Yun. He won with a score of 8,520 - 8,400

Success at the Asian Games adds to Defia's title. Previously, he had also won a gold medal for women's poomsae individual numbers in the 2018 Asia Taekwondo Championship which took place in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, May 24-28, 2018.

Defia also won a bronze medal in the Poomsae pair category when paired with Muhammad Abdurrahman Wahyu in the event.
