on Mother's Day, me and my brother rivalzzz went to the Untouchables in Paderborn to the Ahorn Ballpark. The baseball club in Paderborn had a Bundesliga match against the Solingen Alligators. Since rivalzzz and I used to actively play baseball, we thought - let's go cheer the guys on their so important game.
At the beginning of the first inning (game section) the Paderborn U's were able to make up 2 runs (points) and take the lead. Up to the fourth inning the Paderborn team could keep the lead, until the Alligators took over the lead with a good shot into the field but also did not relinquish it. In the end, the Paderborn team unfortunately suffered a 7:3 defeat. Very sad :(
Guess we'll watch the next home game of the U's again in fine weather :) Then I will also test if the old hare still manages to smash the ball nicely into the wide field :-D

The baseball rules - short and sweet
Baseball is played by two teams of nine players each. One team is in the field, the other is on the home plate and tries to score points by passing the so-called bases (the 3 white cushions on the field). For each player who runs the bases in the order 1st, 2nd, 3rd as well as the home plate (starting position), there is one point.
However, before the attacking player may run, he must hit the ball thrown to him by the opponent's thrower. Ideally, the pitcher throws the ball in such a way that it is very difficult to hit the ball. If he manages to hit the ball, he runs off and tries to reach 1st base before the opposing team has caught the ball and "makes a difference". Once he has safely reached at least 1st base, another teammate may take the shot and also try to hit the ball as far as possible into the field. If 3 players are identified, the first of both game sections is completed and the team changes. When both teams have completed a round, the inning is over.
The winner is the team that scored the most points after 7 or 9 innings (game sections). There is no draw in baseball, so it can happen that the game continues into the night.

Granted: Baseball is not as easy as burning ball - but similar. With this little rule customer you can at least have a little say in the next baseball match :)
