TAIPEI - Matt Nieto scored a three-pointer on a buzzer to bring the Team Philippines-Ateneo to a 77-76 victory against Chinese-Taipei A last Saturday at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in the 2018 William Jones Cup.

Due to a foul called to Thirdy Ravena in the 'loose ball' encounter with Ying Chung-Chen, Chinese-Taipei advanced to 76-74 advantage from Chen's two free throws with 3.1 seconds remaining.

Despite of this foul call, the Team Philippines have not broken the game and coach Tab Baldwin has made a great play for Nieto's game-winning basket that silenced the homecrowd.

Nieto scored 13 points.

William Navarro contributed 11 points and six rebounds, while Angelo Kouame and Tyler Tio scored 8 points. Thirdy Ravena has only seven points, five rebounds and four assists.

With the win, the Team Philippines (5-2) campaign for the podium finish is steady. They will then face Iran B Sunday night.
