Gilas Pilipinas a national team for Philippines are currently looking forward for a better performance in FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification in Asia. They make sure that they are well focused on every game in local basketball (PBA), a way for them to improve their game play in basketball. Currently there are 16 teams participated which each of them are in divided into Group Stage.

With Philippines safely advanced to second round with other top three countries in each Group Stage. They make sure that they are well-prepared for upcoming matches second round which might be harder than Group matches.

Possible they will be facing Australia, Chinese Taipei, Iran, Kazakhstan and Qatar on the second round.

Philippine Team made it to FIBA World 2014 where they are eliminated early in Group Stage with a 1-4 standing. I would say that their experiences on previous FIBA tournaments will be an asset of improvement both their players and the team.

Now the team are aiming to win as as much as possible to make it as an advantage to secure their qualifying spot for World Cup which will be happening on 2019 in China as its host country.

Philippines made their bronze medal on the year 1954, scoring 5-2 in the final round.
