It will just be few days remaining for the start of round 2 in FIBA Basketball Asian Qualifiers, after they have successfully able to finish rank 2 in their group during round 1 against Australia, Japan, and Chinese Taipei. In round 1 Philippines only lost to Australia where an unexpected incident happened during their match in the Philippines where resulted to several players suspended for several international games. Now, Philippines are re-evaluating for possible rosters to complete the 12-man team to compete much more stronger contenders.

Yeng Guiao will take in-charge as head coach in FIBA after Chot Reyes coaching the team involved in the brawl. Guiao who has good performance in Basketball Asian Games is confident that he can put the team into the next level in round 2 Asian Qualifiers and that a proper selection of team rosters should be evaluated carefully to have a stronger and competitive team against other participating countries.

Philippines will face Iran in FIBA match this coming September 13. Iran team has shown great performance in Asian Games will be recognized as a possible contender for the slot of World Cup. This will be a challenge for the Philippines on how they could win against Iran. With proper strategy and teamwork, I think it will not be too hard for the Philippines to make a blow against Iran in their basketball match.

Some possible players that will be included in the selection of the final 12 have started their formal training and preparation for the upcoming international event. This could be a good initiative for the team to prepare for their greatest challenge and improve more of their team chemistry that could hold as an advantage for the team.

In order to qualify for the basketball World Cup, they need to be in the top 3 in their group. The Philippines will have round robin matches with other teams in the group but will not be playing against Australia even if they are in the same group. This is to avoid further conflict due to what was happening during their last match.
