Clarkson of Philippine Team aggressively attack defending Japan players - Image Source

Both Philippines and Japan basketball teams have still something to prove in Basketball Asian Games. Even in classification rounds in the basketball category, we can still see the best actions in the court that we want them to be. Still a competitive match between the two teams are still being shown and still, basketball fans in both countries are still in full support no matter the outcome will be.

Both Philippines and Japan are evenly scored during the first quarter but in the later quarters, Philippines step up to the next level and overpowered Japan with some scoring streak. Japan, on the other hand, was not able to catch up due to some defensive effort being implemented while during their offensive strikes.

Standhardinger of Philippines has shown a total impressive basketball with his 27 points that really help the Philippine team to a big boost while his fellow teammates Clarkson manage to put up 22 points and Dalista with his 17 points. We have seen a more organized team compare to their previous matches. This can be a result of their experience and chemistry throughout the game they played against China and South Korea and that they have learned a lesson on it.

Japan team players Kumagae and Nakamura still possessed some aggressiveness between them whom the two fought great during their match against the Philippines. But since Japan has too many missed during their match in which 31 attempt shots, only 11 went in on their three points. Aside from that Japan has been overpowered by the Philippines in terms of Rebounds on both defensive and offensive. Some key values that Japan is missing which resulted in their loss.

Japan will encounter Indonesia for 7th-8th place in Asian Games Basketball while Philippines and Syria who won their games in first classification rounds will meet each other to fight for the 5th-6th place.

Their basketball matches will be scheduled on Aug.31, which each basketball teams will have enough time to focus on their improvements while learning the weakness of their counterpart to gain some advantage.
