Today is the day. Time to see what we can do this season betting on the matches in one of the most unpredictable leagues in the World.
Liverpool vs Norwich
With Daniel Farke of Norwich promising a real fight and Jurgen Klopp ordering the Liverpool players to be greedy and angry this game will either be a goal bonanza or a total flop. I, being an optimist will back the first scenario.
My Bet: Over 3.5 @2.000
Crystal Palace vs Everton
I don't like backing Crystal Palace at home and I don't like backing Everton at all. While I have some good luck backing Crystal Palace away the last season, backing them at home has proven to be disastrous.
The most common scenario has been Crystal Palace winning away, me getting my hopes up, then losing a bet by backing them at home.
My Bet: Draw @3.340
Bournemouth vs Sheffield United
Here, I'll go against the market and back the Chris Wilder's side to pull a surprise on the market and collect all three points.
My Bet: Sheffield United @3.910
West Ham United vs Manchester City
Although, from time to time, the home team does win against the big names, this time around it's hard to see anything but what we have been seeing in the recent years. This time, I think that the home side will score, though.
My Bet: Both Teams to Score @1.95 (bet365 odds)
Burnley vs Southampton
In my opinion these two are equally matched sides and I believe we'll see the similar outcome as we saw in February.
My Bet: Draw @3.280
Watford vs Brighton
This is the same opening game these as it was the last season. Watford is a solid side that I expect to start strong and repeat the performance from the last season.
My Bet: Watford @1.990
Tottenham vs Aston Villa
I don't like Tottenham very much, but I don't see the visitors doing anything in this match. The odds are a bit too short for my liking, yet I'll go with it.
My Bet: Tottenham -1.5 @2.000
Manchester United vs Chelsea
Here I'll go against the favorites. While everybody is expecting a strong start from the home team I think the odds on Chelsea are rather generous.
My Bet: Chelsea +0.25 @2.030
Leicester vs Wolves
These two I like a lot for no rational reason. I expect an interesting match but can't see a clear outcome so my bet will be on the total goals.
My Bet: Over 2.25 Goals @1.934
Newcastle vs Arsenal
Backing Arsenal away the last season has bitten me in the ass more than once. Yet, here I am again doing the same thing. Why? Well, the home team went from Rafa Benitez to Steve Bruce and with all due respect to Bruce, Rafa he ain't.
My Bet: Arsenal @1.854
If you're to follow my bets do so with micro stakes. This is the first Matchday of the season and I'm not feeling that confident about it. Good luck!
