The first match of the season for Millwall against the side that won both times the last season. Will this time the result be different? I think so.

Millwall did rather well in the transfer window and Neil Harris got a winger Connor Mahoney for £990k (from Bournemouth) and the strikers Matt Smith (for an undisclosed fee believed to be £800k) and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson for £765k. A lot of players left this summer, too and Millwall will look like a new fresh side this season.

On the other hand, Preston didn't go all out and signed a ton of new players. Tom Bayliss came for £1.98m and that's their biggest expense in this transfer period.

The last five saw both Millwall and Preston going 2W1D2L. In the last match, Millwall played 2-2 against Real Sociedad while Preston defeated Newcastle 2-1. Both sides will want to win today, both sides did equally well over the summer, and I believe that the Millwall's home advantage will cancel out the Neil Harris' poor record against Alex Neil and we'll see them sharing the points today.
