Freiburg will be hosting Wolfsburg this Saturday at the Schwarzwald-Stadion this Saturday. Wolfsburg will look at this as an opportunity to keep abreast of the top four and a place in the Champion’s League.

Freiberg performed sporadically last year beating some of the top sides in the league yet losing their way when it came to lesser teams. Their form has not shown much improvement this year having lost two League matches and having drawn the last one that they have played while letting in two or more goals on each occasion. They are seven points away from the relegation zone after the drawn match with Stuttgart. Christian Streich has admitted that his boys have “lacked aggression and stability at times”. They have already conceded nine goals this year so far in three games. He will be hoping that they win this home game and move away from the relegation zone.

Wolfsburg, on the other hand, is placed at the seventh place on the league table and is eight points short of being in the leading four teams. But their form also has not been that good this year as it was in the last. In their three Bundesliga matches, they had to suffer two losses at the hand of Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen before clinching a win against by a solitary goal against Hertha Berlin. Having been bundled out of DFB Pokal by a defeat to Leipzig, the Wolves will want to make their European dream a reality. But Wolfsburg has a good away record in their recent games.

There will be no dearth of goals in this match with both the teams expected to net at least one. In fact, Freiburg has scored two goals in each of their last five matches but haven't won yet this year. While Freiburg will rely on Gian-Luca Waldschmidt and Nils Petersen to do the scoring, Wolfsburg will depend on Wout Weghorst and Daniel Ginczek.

Head to head

Going by a head to head status Wolfsburg have won three games to Freiburg's two in their last five meeting. Moreover, Freiburg has beaten Wolfsburg in the away game played four months back. But Wolfsburg's away for these past few weeks has been amazing and they will want to dominate this encounter.

Current form of the two teams

Freiburg is going into this game with a draw behind the preceded by three losses and a an only win in their last six matches. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, has a record of four wins and two losses and are approaching this game with three of those wins coming in their away games.
