Pune City FC will be playing their last home match against Delhi Dynamos FC at the Shree Shivchattrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi on Sunday. Both the teams have seen a late revival of their fortunes and Pune City FC will seek to play some attacking football to entertain their fans.

Pune City FC

At the seventh place in the ISL league table, Pune City has 19 points from 16 matches. After sacking their coach Miguel Angel Brown just three games into their season, Pradyum Reddy and then Phil Brown have revived the fortunes of the team and they have gate crashed many a party of the league leaders. Pune has relied on their counter-attacks to trouble their opponents. Their wingers have displayed a pace that has caused some discomfort for opposing teams. Marcelinho, Robin Singh and Iain Hume have flourished under Phil Brown. They had just one win from their first ten games, are now looking to finish at least at the seventh place and will rely on their forwards to score the necessary goals, to reach there.

Delhi Dynamos FC

Joseph Gambau’s men too had to go for eleven games with only one win at the start of the league. Their revival after the winter break has seen them placed eight in the league table with 15 points. In their last game against the league leaders Bengaluru FC, Delhi Dynamos Fc came back from behind to grab three points in the game. With their new signing Ulisys Davila and Daniel Lalhlimpuia both getting on the scoring sheet against Bengaluru FC, the Lions will look to win this match against Pune City FC. They will be playing for pride given that a place for the Super Cup is beyond them. Delhi Dynamos FC will want to hone their game before going into the qualifiers.

Head to head

The two teams have faced each other nine times in the ISL. While Delhi Dynamos have got the better of Pune City four times the latter has won only one game. The remaining four matches have ended in a draw including the last match that they played earlier this season.

Current form of the two teams

Pune City FC is going into this match in great form, not having conceded even one match in their last six. They have four wins and two draws to brandish including a 4-1 drubbing of Jamshedpur FC. Delhi Dynamos have also been in good form in this half of the season not having been defeated in five of their last six matches. They are fresh out of a thumping 3-2 win against the league leaders Bengaluru FC.

Prediction

Both the sides have shown some new vitality in the second half of the season and have spoiled a few parties for the big guys in the league. But with their forwards on a roll right now, Pune City looks the better side to me. I would place my bet on Pune City winning their last home game.

Score: Pune City FC 1-0 Delhi Dynamos FC
