Burnley v Sheffield United
Two of the best-organised teams in the Premier League go head to head in the first game today. Sheffield United got their European hopes back on track by sucker-punching a poor Spurs team on Thursday. I doubt Burnley will be quite as gung-ho and generous in their defending as Tottenham were while at the other end apart from a mini-blip in form straight after the restart, Sheffield United have been one of the best defences in the league this season. Not expecting many goals here.

Newcastle v West Ham
2 sides that haven't traditionally got the pulses racing. While they might have seen 5 goals each in their last games out, I think West Ham's desire to get something from this game coupled with the fact Newcastle may need to rest a couple of key players could lead to a lack of goalmouth action.

Liverpool v Aston Villa
Beware the wounded tiger! Liverpool's sense of joy at their guard of honour at the Ethiad was soon wiped out as City hammered them 4-0 and I wonder if Aston Villa might be in the path of the whirlwind to come following that result. The last league game that didn't feature 3 or more goals at Anfield was way back in January and that was against a Manchester United side that had to work pretty hard not to get obliterated in the manner that most visitors to Anfield have these past few seasons. Villa are struggling to get going since the restart and this could be another nail in the coffin in regards to their survival hopes.

Southampton v Man City
City's away form this season has cost them but I think as we saw from Wednesday's demolition of Liverpool, this squad still has a point to prove. There are several highly talented players in this City side that will see this run in as a chance to cement a more regular first-team place for the coming season and of course, City still have a Champions League campaign to complete in the hope of adding the ultimate prize. Southampton meanwhile have been quite disappointing at home this season but might fancy picking up a prize scalp in order to help reverse that trend. An early goal here and this could end up being one of those matches where we see quite a few!
