Video Source: Youtube- The Breakfast Club: Tyson Fury Opens Up About Mental Health, Overcoming Alcoholism & Fighting Deontay Wilder

Following the heels of the announcement and press conference of the fight between Deontay Wilder (40-0) and Tyson Fury (27-0) this past October 1st, Tyson Fury delivered an interview chalk full of cheeky quotes and quirky attitude during his take on how and why he will defeat Deontay Wilder on December 1st. While doing so, Fury made a point to spread awareness of mental health through winning his battle with recovery.

"When I was on top of the world, I became more and more depressed..."

"You can have everything in the world and feel like sh*t on a daily basis"

"I was a 100% certain I was going to hit the floor and die. The only thing I could think about was me kids having no father growing up... nothing else matters."

Though I've never dealt with any mental health issues (and sure hope to never deal), I commend Fury on his ability to overcome. Many people (rich or poor) in the world look to drugs, alcohol, and other forms of addiction to subdue life's many pressures, but there is no substance better to get high off of than you're own happiness, health, and the love of family.

Charlamagne Tha God: "[You] been here for 12 minutes, I like you a lot, especially [given] everything you stand up for with mental health, but you're not beating Deontay Wilder."

Tyson Fury: "100%, Deontay Wilder is a Bum."

Charlamagne Tha God: "It can go the distance and he wins on points or Deontay will knock you out by the 5th or 6th round."

Tyson Fury: "The only chance he has is knocking me out... He ain't going to be me on points... Purest Boxing always beats aggressive puncher every single time."

The Stage Has Been Set (A very entertaining press conference)

Kudos to Tyson Fury, who I knew little about before this interview and the press conference that I featured in this post above. I firmly believe Deontay Wilder will come out with the W on December 1st but from the looks of it, Tyson Fury surely poses the most physical and most 'mental' threat to Wilder I've seen yet.

I agree with Deontay Wilder's manager that Tyson Fury is the better fellowman (over native Anthony Joshua) who actually stepped up and accepted the fight on short term notice , especially after only having fought 2 fights in the last 5 years.

Both fighters remain undefeated, are two of the biggest and talented fighters in the heavyweight division, and boast two of the most colorful personalities in boxing. The fight on December 1st should be the fight of the decade.

I'll gladly accept any offers/wagers here (if Scorum's betting platform hasn't been launched yet before December 1st).
