Former heavyweight boxer, Mike Tyson, made his professional boxing debut in 1985, after Muhammad Ali retired from boxing in 1981, Mike Tyson later emerged as a new phenomenon in the world of heavyweight boxing, his professional boxing debut began when he won over Hector Mercedes in the fight which took place at Empire State Plaza, United States, (6/3/1985), his first world title was the WBC belt won when defeating Trevor Berbick at the Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, (22/11/1986).
In 1987, Mike Tyson won three world champion belts, namely WBC, WBA and IBF, the IBF world champion belt acquired after defeating Tony Tucker in Las Vegas. During his fist career from 1985-2005, Mike Tyson had 56 battles with record 50 wins (44 knockouts) and 6 defeats (5 knockouts). Of his six defeats, there were four painful defeats for Mike Tyson, having lost the world title.
The fight against James Douglas was the first defeat suffered by Mike Tyson after always winning since 1985, the battle took place at the Tokyo Dome, (11/2/1990) and made Mike Tyson lose his WBC, WBA and IBF titles, which he has maintained for three year.
In 1996 was the first fight between Mike Tysondan and Evander Holyfield, the fight took place at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, (9/11/1996), the fight for the WBA world title obtained by Tyson after defeating Bruce Seldon, two months earlier, however, in this first fight, Mike Tyson lost TKO from Evander Holyfield in the 11th round, Since Evander Holyfield's opponent's defeat, Mike Tyson then never won the world title until retirement.
Seven months after losing to Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson then repeated the match.
