The IPL 2019 auction will start in a few days. All teams have released the list of the players that they have preferred to retain for this season. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has released three players before the auction for the 2019 IPL. They are the only team who that has won the IPL title thrice. CSK is also the reigning champion having won the 2018 edition of IPL. The CSK franchise has again shown the faith that they retain in their old timers. As such they have released only three players for auction.

The strength of CSK is in their batting strength. The team’s batting line up is very strong. MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, DuPlesis, Ambati Rayadu are some star batsmen of the team. The great cricketer Shane Watson is available to them as an allrounder. The addition of Shane Watson has now given more strength to the batting line-up. Shane Watson also plays a vital role as a bowler for CSK. After all, we can say that batting is the backbone of CSK.

The Australian batsmen Aron Finch and Glenn Maxwell have decided not to participate in the IPL this 2019 season. Last year these players did not perform too well and that is probably why the franchise has decided to release them. Both the players were very expensive last year. A few days ago, on a news website, it has been published that franchises might not opt to buy Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell too. This decision might have been taken due to ICC World Cup 2019.

According to the BCCI, a total of 1003 players have applied for the IPL 2019 auction this year including 223 foreign players. This data shows the popularity of the IPL in the cricket playing world.

Yuvraj Singh, who has been released by Kings XI Punjab, has reduced his base price for IPL 2019 auction. His career in the IPL has not been overly impressive so far. As of today, Yuvraj has played for five different teams in 11 IPL seasons. Hence, reducing the base price is the only option for Yuvraj in order to increase the chances of his being recruited by one of the franchises. He has kept his base price as 1 crore INR this year. Even Jayadev`s base price is high as compared to Yuvi this season.

Jayadev was purchased by Rajasthan Royals in 11.50 crore INR last year. He was one of the most expensive players in the 2018 IPL auction. His performance was not as good as it was expected and did not justify the price that the franchise paid for him.
