It is often said that the best time to play a sport is when you are at the peak of your powers. For most people, this often translates to playing sports when they are in the best form of their lives. This applies mostly to their youthful vigor. When it comes to the game of cricket, it is exactly the same. This is exactly what Marnus Labuschagne is currently feeling. He has turned out to become one of the best players for his country Australia and he is not up to 30 years. So who is he and how did his career kick-off? Let us see if we can get these facts right.

Born on the 22nd day of June 1994, he is currently 25 years old. However, his career does not seem to be that young. Another unique thing about him is that he has African roots having been born in South Africa. He was born in Klerksdorp which is a town in South Africa. However, when he was just 10 years old, his dad thought it would be a nice move to take the entire family to Australia and that is exactly what he did. That was when he moved and settled down in Brisbane.

His playing career has seen him play for many domestic clubs. His debut for first-class cricket can be traced back to just five years ago when he played or Queensland for the very first time during the 2014 season. He also plays for other teams such as Brisbane Heats. When it comes to the international scene, he made his first debut in the Test series just last year. He came on as a substitute for Steve Smith. This act made him the very cricket player to come on as a concussion substitute. This was against Pakistan. The match was fair to him as he scored a duck.

He would go on to become something of a regular for the international team when it comes to the Test series playing against India in the last month of that year. This year, he also created another record as he becomes the very first cricket player to get at least 1000 runs in just one season. It was then not a surprise when he got called up for the international team for the Ashes series. After coming up as a substitute, he would go on to make about 59 runs. This was the biggest runs Australia has had in their innings (second). At such a young age, it was no doubt a fantastic achievement.

He remains single and is a very religious person. He was raised a Christian and he has kept to his religious beliefs despite playing regularly for his club and country.

For him, his career is just taking off and he is already a regular for his club and country. It is quite exciting to see how far he would go and if he would seal his name in the history books of the sport.
