With the start of the year 2018, The Indian Cricket Board BCCI decided to play a three overseas series against the world's top teams England, South Africa, and Australia. Indian Cricket team doesn't have a good record against all of the 3 these teams and already continued the same against South Africa and England this year. India had never won any test series at South Africa and Australia. Earlier this year on a tour of England, India lost the 5 match test series by 4-1 with 2 matches losing by an innings and also lost the ODI series by 2-1. However, they won the 3 match t-20 series by 2-1. In a South Africa tour, they managed to achieve great results in both ODI series and T-20 series and won both series by 5-1 and 2-1 respectively. They also fought very hard to win their first test series at South Africa however, they failed to win the test series at South Africa and lost the 3 match series by 2-1.

Lost 8 Test Series at Australia

India has been playing cricket series against Australia since 1947. In that long period, India had played 11 test series at Australia and lost 8 of them. While 3 test series in 1980,1981 and 2003 were ended a draw. India lost the 4 match test series by 2-0 in their last visit to Australia and lost 3 consecutive test series in a row at Australia. They played 44 test matches at Australia and won only 5 matches losing 28 matches.

Sunil Gavaskar and Sourav Ganguli were the only successful captains

Previously, total 13 Indian players captained for team India in a test series at Australia. 9 out of 13 captains didn't manage to earn a single victory for India in any of the matches they captained at Australia. Sunil Gavaskar and the Sourav Ganguli were the only captains who managed to get the victory and draw in a test match at Australia tour. Under their successful captain MS Dhoni, they played only 1 draw and lost 4 matches in 5 test matches at Australia. This year Indian team has traveled to Australia with their newly appointed test captain Virat Kholi. It will be interesting to see how Kholi will lead this young Indian side to hand their first series win at Australia.

A Good Chance to Create a History for Indian Cricket team

After losing the former captain Steve Smith and David Warner for 1 year from international cricket on a ball tampering incident in a test match against Sout Africa at Cape Town, Australian Cricket Team has been struggling very badly and produced a series of bad results. England whitewashes the 5 match ODI series at England against them. Earlier this month, they already lost the 3 matches ODI series by 2-1 at home against South Africa. Due to these continuous bad results, fans are protesting against Australian Cricket Board to remove the 1 year banned from two experience players Steve Smith and David Warner.

India has the great opportunity to take the advantage of this weaker Australian side to create the historical test series win at Australia.
