Rohit Sharma has now become the first player in a history of T20 International cricket to score the 4 centuries. He overtakes the New Zealand international Colin Munro's record of 3 centuries to register his name on that record with 4 centuries. The Indian opener also becomes the highest run scorer for the team India in T20 International to surpass the Virat Kohli's 2102 runs. It took Rohit 86 matches to cross that score while stand-in skipper Virat Kholi achieve that in just 52 innings. After the end of his unbeaten 111 runs inning, he is now behind New Zealand International Martin Guptill by just 68 runs for most runs in T20 Internationals.
Indian openers started off a bit slowly as they struggled to play with the pace attack of Oshane Thomas and Keemo Paul. At fifth over, Indian openers scored 17 runs in Thomas over to release the pressure. After that, these two openers never turned back and stand the solid partnership of 123 runs. Darren Bravo scored 23 runs from 18 balls while tailender Keemo Paul scored the 20 runs from 21 balls for West Indies. For India, Bhubaneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets each in their 4 overs spell while Hardik Pandya failed to pick up any wicket. Rohit Sharma was awarded man of the match for his brilliant knock in the first inning.
With a loss of opening two matches of the series, West Indies now have lost the 3 match T20 series. India has now lead the series by 2-0 and will be looking to whitewash the T20 series by winning the final game of the series at Chennai on 11 Nov 2018.
