Everest Premier League is going on at Kirtipur Stadium, Kathmandu. It is already among the best T20 league in the Associate Nations. This shortest format is favorable for the batsman and EPL remained no difference. We have already seen some great knocks by a different batsman in this tournament after 5 matches being played by each team. I am bringing my top 4 best individual batting performance in EPL so far.
- Ravi Inder Singh-125* VS Pokhara Rhinos & 86* Vs. Kathmandu Kings XI
Ravi Inder Singh from Bhairahawa Gladiators scored 125* runs against the Pokhara Rhinos in 9th December. It’s the highest individual run in the history of Everest Premier League and his name went into the record book as the first batsman to achieve this. He made 125* runs facing just 60 balls, with the strike rate of 208.33. He smashed every bowler he faced hitting 10 Sixes and 8 fours.
In another match against Kathmandu Kings XI, he scored 86* runs facing 61 balls. He smashed six fours and four sixes against the bowlers of Kathmandu XI.
2. Babar Hayat-90 vs. Chitwan Tigers
Babar Hayat from Biratnagar Warriors batsman scored 90 runs against the Chitwan Tigers in 12th December. He scored 90 runs in just 42 balls with the strike rate of 214.28. He smashed eight sixes and five fours. After some bad performance early in the tournament, he picked his form from this match and we might get more big innings from him and help Tigers pick more victories. Chitwan Tigers are at fourth with just 2 wins.
3. Richard Levi- 84 Vs. Lalitpur Patriots
The big-hitting South African batsman Richard Levi from Pokhara Rhinos scored 84 runs against the Lalitpur Patriots in his second match of the tournament. He scored 84 runs facing just 39 balls with the help of 9 sixes and three fours. His 84 runs was not enough for Rhinos to win this match after Gaurav Tomar's heroic innings. Levi is loving this ground and playing aggressive innings for Rhinos. In his first match, he scored 79 runs. He scored 204 runs in the four matches he had played. But all his contribution had gone in vain as Pokhara Rhinos are at the bottom of the table without a win. Here is some shot by Levi:
4. Gaurav Tomar-82* Vs. Pokhara Rhinos
Gaurav Tomar from Lalitpur Patriots had done exceptionally well in this tournament. He overshadowed Levi's 84 runs by scoring 82 runs off 41 balls and taking his team to the victory. He got 8 sixes and 4 fours in his inning. He also scored not out 80 runs against Kathmandu kings XI after this match. His all-around performance has helped Patriots won 4 matches out of 5 played and remain at the top of the table.
To conclude, overseas players are doing better than the local Nepalese player in this EPL. Most of the overseas players are the crowd favorite and among the best entertainer. Ravi Inder Singh is leading the highest runscorer table meanwhile Richard Levi, GY Tomar, DS Airee and Paul Stirling are on the top five. Until now only three Nepalese players have scored a half century.
