Last season Sandip Lamihhane became the first Nepalese player to play in the Indian Premier League(IPL). IPL franchise Delhi DareDevils Picked him last year at his base price. But he missed a major part of the tournament last year only featuring after the 11th round of the fixtures. After that, he played three games picking up five crucial wickets with a bowling average of 16.4.

Delhi DareDevils have retained 14 other players including nine domestic players. The domestic players retained by Delhi Daredevils are Rishab Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Amit Mishra, Prithvi Shaw, Harshal Patel, Aves Khan, Rahul Tewaita, Manoj Kalara, and Jayant Yadav. The other 5 International players retained by Daredevils are Collin Munro, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Chis Morris, and Sandeep Lamichhane.

DD has traded Abhishek Sharma, Shahbaz Nadeem, and Vijay Shankar to Sunrisers Hyderabad with Shikhar Dhawan. DD has also released ten other players included Jason Toy, Gautam Gambhir, Liam Plunkett, Junior Dala, Mohammed Shami, Sayan Ghosh, Glen Maxwell, Naman Ojha, Daniel Christian, and Gurkeerat Singh Mann. After playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in six seasons, Shikhar Dhawan will play for Delhi are Devils again. The released players will go to the auction pool; the auction is scheduled for December 17 and 18.
