Hello friends, Rajasthan Royals are making preparations to welcome Steve Smith in their team. He is among the two Australian international cricketers who were banned from playing cricket for the ball tempering scandal in 2018. As the period of his ban gets over before the IPL commences, he can be included in the Rajasthan Royals team as well as the Australian team for the World Cup 2019. When he returns along with David Warner to the Australian ranks it will certainly make their team stronger.

Steve Smith could also become a game changer for Rajasthan Royals. Last year following the sanctions by the ICC and then by Cricket Australia, he could not take part in the IPL tournament. Shane Warne has returned as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals and he would certainly be glad to have Steve Smith in his team. Ajinkya Rahane is the captain of the Rajasthan Royals and he was made the captain on the recommendation of Shane Warne.

Ajinkya Rahane said in his statement that he is really pleased to have Steve Smith as one of the members of his team. He stated that mistakes can happen and can be made by anyone. But I think that what Steve Smith and the other Australian players did was shameful and that they deserved the punishment that they were handed out. That will prevent the other players from cheating in the future.

Playing in the IPPL, Steve Smith has scored a total of 1703 runs in 62 innings played over 69 matches. The only century that he scored in the IPL, 101 runs is also his highest score. He has also scored five half-centuries in the IPL matches. Those are good statistics for a batsman and his presence in the Rajasthan Royals team will strengthen their batting.

It is well known that the Rajasthan Royals have made a huge investment this year and acquired new talent. They have paid 8.4 Crore INR for buying the services of Jayadev Unadkat. That was the highest that any player was bid in the IPL auctions. Besides Unadkat, they also bought Varun Aaron, Oshane Thomas of the West Indies and Ashton Turner of Australia. While they paid 2.4 Crore INR for Varun Aaron, Oshane Thomas was bought for 1.10 crore INR. The Australian emerging player, Aston Turner was bought for 5 million INR.
