Hello guys this is the first post of my Living Legends Documentary. Today I will tell u guys about a person who first served as a ballboy in international cricket and then represented a nation at International format. He is commonly known as Master Blaster, God of Cricket. I am talking about Sachin Tendulkar, whose full name is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

Sachin was born on 24 of April 1973 in Bombay. His Father was a well known novelist and his mother worked in a Insurance industry. He used to play with his brother Ajit. Whom he credited as pivotal character of his life. His coach was impressed by his natural skills and shifted him to another high school, which had a great scope in sports and had provided great players. He used to practice at mornings evenings under his coach's supervision. Once he said that whenever I had exhausted my coach used to put a coin on the stumps and telling everbody if anyone will get Sachin out, coin would be his. And if I don't then coin will be mine. He had collected 13 coins all in that session. And he considers them as the most prominent rewards. When he was a boy he had become a conversation in the locality.

People were pretty sure that he will be a great cricketer. He was playing for his school team besides that he had also joined club. After sometime he then went on to play for the cricket club of India. When he was at the  age of 14, he attended the MRF Pace Foundation in Madras. He initially trained himself as a bowler. But an Australian fast bowler suggested Tendulkar to focus on his batting skill. Once former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar gave him a pair of his own ultra light pads and consoled him to not get disheartened for not getting the Bombay Cricket Association's, he was 14 at that time.

In 1987 Tendulkar served as a ballboll in Cricket World Cup. In 1988 Tendulkar scored century in his every innings and had 664 on hold partnership. In that inning Tendulkar made 326 not out. He made thousand runs in that tournament. In 1987 Tendulkar was selected for Ranji Trophy to represent Mumbai. In 1988 Tendulkar made his debut for Bombay against Gujarat at home and scored 100 not out in that match, making him the youngest Indian to score a century on debut in first-class cricket. Tendulkar finished that trophy with highest run scorer overall. He made his first double century for his team againist Australian Team. He is the only player to score a century on debut in all three of his domestic first-class tournaments.

Tendulkar was selected for the match against Pakistan in the late 1989. This was the Pakistan tour. Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi in November 1989 aged 16 years and 205 days. He just made 15 runs after being bowled by waqar younis. He was hit on the nose by a bouncer bowled by Younis, but he declined medical assistance and continued to bat even as he gushed blood from it. This proved his love for the game. So this was his debue match against pakistan. He scored 26 runs in an over against Abdul Qader leg spinner. After this he had a tour to New Zealand and made 117 runs. On his tour to England he became the second youngest cricketer who made a century in the test. Which saved India to lose the match. On his tour to Australia he made his reputation as a great and made 148. In final match he made 114. He scored his first ODI century on 9 September 1994 against Australia in Sri Lanka at Colombo. And it took him 78 ODI's to make a century.

A name rised more when he was the leading run scorer in 1996 world cup. Against Srilanka India lost the match. Which was by some means rewarded to the Sri lanka. After that world cup. A match against Pakistan in Sharjah. Tendulkar and Navjot singh sidhu made centuries and made a record of one down partnership. After then Azharuddin captain of the team unleashed the 24 in an over and India won that match. Which enabled India to post a score in excess of 300 runs for the first time in an ODI.

Tendulkar made an unbeaten 204 as Shane Warne conceded 111 runs in 16 overs and Australia lost the match within three days, beating the world's best bowlers. This was the rise of the dominant cricket. His contribution in the ICC 1998 quarterfinal at Dhaka paved the way for India's entry into the semifinals, when he took four Australian wickets after scoring 141 runs in 128 balls. Once a triangular series was held in Pakistan. In which Tendulkar got run out on colliding with the Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhter. In that match around I lakh Indian crowd was supporting Tendulkar. On his dismissal They throwed bottles and other things to the players of Pakistan. They had to get out of the field. After that match was just watched by 200 people and was won by Pakistan. After that Indian Team refused to play in Pakistan again due to some clashes between the two nations.

When Tendulkar took over as captain in 1996, it was with huge hopes and expectations. But it was not like that, the team was performing poorly. Something it was his bad luck. The win was not in his destiny. During his captaincy they were losing. In 2000 he resigned and Sourav Ganguly took over as a captain. On South Africa tour he was alleged with a charge of ball tempering which led him to the one test series match ban. Tendulkar made 673 runs in 11 matches in the 2003 Cricket World Cup which helped India to reach to the final. But it was won by Australia. Tendulkar was given the Man of the Tournament award.

Tendulkar continued to score heavily in ODI cricket that year, with two hundreds in a tri-series involving New Zealand and Australia. Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 194 against Pakistan at Multan. He had reached 200 on which Indian Captain Rahul Dravid  Declared. Tendulkar said he was disappointed and was pretty shocked by the declaration. But the legend didn't stopped here he was doing his job and was making centuries. He had some issues with his coach who said that his attitude doesn't fit his batting. On which Tendulkar made some comments. After which the greg resigned. And Tendulkar was issued with an Explanation from the BCCI. On returning to his old form Tendular against Bangladesh made 93 and 99 in two matches. He was the leading run scorer and was adjudged the Man of the Series. On the second day of the Nottingham Test on 28 July 2007, Tendulkar became the third cricketer to complete 11,000 Test runs. He has been several times bowled on the score of 90- 100.

Tendulkar breaking the record for most number of Test runs held by Brian Lara. Tendulkar returned to the Ranji Trophy to get back some form ahead of the England Series at home in 2009. Where he made 137 and knocked down the opponents. Mumbai won that Ranji Trophy. He also played Irani Trophy in which he made class 140. This was also his 81st hundred in first-class cricket, equalling Sunil Gavaskar's Indian record for most first-class hundreds.

His poor performance in England tour he made retirement. Many cricketer and great bureaucrats, Bollywood celebrities and other legendary sports man were shocked. Anil kumble said that the Indian Cricket Team list will be dull without the name of Sachin Tendulkar. He was appointed as the Ambassador of the Icc World Cup 2015. Tendulkar's consistent performances earned him a fan following across the globe, including amongst Australian crowds, where Tendulkar has consistently scored centuries. One of the most popular sayings by his fans is "Cricket is my religion and Sachin is my God". He was given by the names God of Cricket and master blaster. Once in an interview he said that I am not God because make mistakes and God doesn't.

Tendulkar's popularity has led him to be a pioneer in India on cricket business dealings when he signed a record sports management deal with WorldTel in 1995, the value of the deal being ₹30 crore (US$4.4 million) over five years. He has also opened two restaurants and he is considered also as one of the richest cricketers. In 2013, Tendulkar was listed at 51st position in Forbes' list of world's highest-paid athletes, with his total earnings estimated to be USD 22 million. In 2013 his total net worth was around 160 million dollars. He has been sponsored by several brands. He was nominated as Rajya Sabha member by the President of India and became the first sportsperson and cricketer to have been appointed.

So this was the journey of a legend from a ballboy to a legendary Batsman. He is an inspiration for the millions. Present Indian Captain Virat Kohli said that Sachin is his model and icon. He has setup number of records. These kind of Batsmans are formed once in a decade.
