Sandeep debuted for Melbourne Stars, picked up two wickets but still was on the losing side. It was an impressive debut nonetheless.

Melbourne Stars invited Sydney Thunders to bat. The Thunders openers were hitting until Zampa slowed the runs and took the first wicket of Jos Butler. Maxwell then introduced Sandeep Lamichhane the over after Zampa.

Shane Watson was caught the second ball of Sandeep’s over. He then caught and bowled Ferguson completing his dream debut in BBL.

The first over was very impressive from Sandeep.

Income Joe Root and was immediately picking up the wrong’uns and leg-breaks Sandeep bowled. A boundary was scored in Sandeep’s second over.

Joe Root and Jason Sangha steadied the partnership for Thunders after that and were able to stretch the totals to 181 in 20 overs.

Sandeep’s second spell was expensive as he went for 13 runs in his third over and 14 runs in his fourth. Sangha launched three sixes against Sandeep and was the star debutante for Thunders.

Overall, it was a very good debut for Sandeep but touch expensive. It would have been an icing on the cake had his economy rate was bit lower and he was on the winning side. But, hoping for more wickets and key performance from him in future games.

His next game is on Monday against Hobart Hurricanes.
