1867 - Frederick William Tate in short Fred Tate was born at Brighton, Sussex, England. He was a Right Arm Medium Pacer who can Bat a bit. He played lots of Country Cricket for his hometown Sussex from 1887 to 1905. In his long first class career he was taken 1331 Wickets and 104 times 5 Wickets in an innings. He played for England just for a single Test match against Australia in 1902 at Old Trafford. That match was so terrific and dramatic that Australia won that match by just 3 Runs and Tate was taken 2 Wickets. After his Cricket retirement he was became a Coach for Derbyshire and later than ran a Pub in Derby in 1937.
1888 - Australian Cricketer Arthur John Richardson was born on Clare, South Australia. He was Right Hand Batsman & Right Arm Off Spinner as well as Right Arm Medium Pace Bowler. December 19th, 1924 he debuted for Australia and in August 14th, 1926 played his last Test match both against England. In his 2 year short career he played 9 Tests for Australia and scored 403 Runs with a Century and 2 Half-Centuries and took 12 Wickets. In 1935, after his retirement he was also done Umpiring for 2 Tests. He was one of the few cricketer who played cricket with Spectacles.
1917 - Australian Right-Hand Opener Batsman Jack Moroney was born at Macksville, New South Wales. He was a slow scoring batsman who played 7 Tests for Australia from 1949 to 1951. In the span of his 2 year short career he scored 383 Runs with the help of 2 Centuries and a Single Half-Century where 118 Runs was his best score for Australia in Test.
1929 - Alfred Philip Binns also known as Allie Binns was born on Kingston, Jamaica. He played as a Wicket Keeper for West Indies in 1953 to 1956. In the span of his 3 year Test career he had done Wicket Keeping in 5 matches where he had taken 14 Catches and Stumped 3 opponent Batsmen. After taking retirement from Cricket he migrated to United States where he completed his studies and graduated from Boston's Northeastern University. Then he started his second innings as a teacher in Massachusetts.
1935 - George Derek Varnals, The former South African Right Hand Batsman was born at Durban, Natal. In his International Cricket Career he only played 3 Tests for South Africa. Where his record is not so impressive, scoring just 97 Runs.
1938 - New Zealand Cricket John Trevor Sparling was born at Mount Eden, Auckland. He was an All Rounder with Right Hand Bat & Right Arm Off Break Bowler. He played for New Zealand From 1958-64. In his 6 year career he played 11 Test matches and scored 229 Runs with the help of a Fifty and taken 5 Wickets. In 1963 at Auckland against New Zealand, John Sparling mistakenly bowled an 11 balls over after the Umpire, Dick Shortt, forgets to count the number of balls of his over.
1947 - Pakistani Cricket Syed Zaheer Abbas Kirmani in short Zaheer Abbas was born at Sialkot, Punjab, British India (now Pakistan). He was one of the best cricketer in the Pakistan Cricket history. He was a Right Hand Batsman and a part time Right Arm Off Breaker. In October 1969, he debuted for Pakistan against New Zealand in Test match cricket and in August 1974 against England in One Day Internationals. From 1969 to 1985 in his 16 year long career he represented Pakistan for 78 Test matches and 62 ODIs. In Test, he scored 5062 Runs with the help of 4 Double Hundreds, 12 Hundreds and 20 Fifties where 274 Runs was his best score. He was done his best score of 274 in just his 2nd Test match and the score is still the Fourth highest individual score ever for Pakistan. In his 62 ODIs, he scored 2572 Runs with 7 Centuries and 13 Fifties. Scoring more than 7500 Runs in his International Career, in his time period he was known as Asian Bradman. He is still regarded one of the finest batsman in the history of Cricket. He was also one of the few professional cricket who used to wear spectacles in the Cricket field. Sunil Gavaskar, the former Test Captain of India ones said Zaheer, "Zaheer Ab-Bas Karo" which means "Zaheer, Please Stop It Now" in Urdu & Hindi referring to his free scoring. In 2015, he become the ICC President. He still holds the record of scoring the most Runs in a 4 Match ODI Series scoring 346 Runs in 1982.
