If we take a look at the previous 20 test games of Indian cricket team the openers have never played over twenty overs at the start and there has always remained a concern over the opening partnership. If a team gets solid

early start that boosts the morale of other players sitting back in dressing room.

Getting some early runs on the board it becomes easy for the men comming down the order to play there shots, and if the openers fail to give a good start that creates problems for the other players too as they are not used

to play the new ball.

In the current squad India has got three specialized openers, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan, if we take a look on their stats on paper, there is nothing wrong with there skills and talent and they have proved

themselves by playing some big knocks many times on paper they look good.

But I may remind you that cricket is not played on white paper it is played on the green pitches of England currently where bowlers get help from the Conditions and English bowlers have used the Conditions better than

that of Indian Bowlers.

It is never easy for a batsmen to take full control of the game as in addition to the Conditions and new ball factor favoring the bowlers at the same time bowlers remain fresh and energetic at the start of the game.

If we talk of the previous test match Indian openers haven't provided a single run for the opening stand and that put a lot of pressure on the players playing down the order and also on the middle order. The openers which are

currently playing for the Indian team have very good opening stats at home but if we take a look on their stats outside subcontinent we wl be getting a different story. The average opening stand of Indian openers outside

subcontinent is the lowest in last five years.

So India needs openers who can play both at the home Conditions and outside the subcontinent too. India has

got some good young bunch of openers and I think the most precise choice will be of Mayank Agarwal and

Prithvi Shaw. Prithvi shaw who is still under his teens and Mayank Agarwal with no international experience can the handle the swing of Anderson and Woakes,, fingers crossed.......
