England Sealed the Series  4-1 Ended @ Kia Oval Test

England sealed the five-match Test series 4-1 with a 118-run win at the Oval. It was a fairytale finish for Alastair Cook, who not only scored a hundred in his final Test but also broke into the top five run-getters of all time in the longest format of the game. England's bowling spearhead James Anderson became the most successful fast bowler in Test cricket when he picked up the final wicket of the game to overtake Glenn McGrath's 563 scalps. There were quite a few records that were broken and rewritten.

Here are the stats highlights from the final day of the Oval Test:

KL Rahul's rare feat

149 by Rahul is the second highest by an Indian batsman in the fourth innings of a Test after 221 by Sunil Gavaskar at the same venue in 1979 when India narrowly missed out chasing down 438 - nine runs away with two wickets in hand.

5 Countries where Rahul has scored his Test hundreds - Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, India and now England. He became the ninth player to score his first five hundreds, all in different countries. Ajinkya Rahane is the only other India player to do so while Inzamam-ul-Haq has scored his first eight centuries in eight different countries.

A day of partnerships

118 There has been only one lower score from which a fourth-wicket stand higher than the 118 between Rahul and Rahane have been built on. Clive Lloyd and Larry Gomes scored 237 for the fourth wicket after being down 1/3 against India in Port of Spain in 1983. 2/3 is also the lowest score from which India have put together a fourth-wicket stand in excess of 100.

204 between Rahul and Pant is the second-highest partnership for India for any wicket in the fourth innings of a Test after the 213 for the first wicket by Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan at the Oval Test mentioned above.

2 Partnerships of 200 or more for the sixth wicket or below for any side in the fourth innings of a Test. The only other pair to do so was Adam Gilchrist and Justin Langer, who put together 238 for the sixth wicket against Pakistan in Hobart as Australia chased down 369 from being 126 for 5.

Rishabh Pant shatters many a record

114 by Pant is the fourth hundred by an Indian wicketkeeper outside the sub-continent. The others to do so before him are Vijay Manjrekar, Ajay Ratra and Wriddhiman Saha, all in West Indies.

At 20 years and 342 days, Pant is the second youngest wicketkeeper to score a century for India. The one younger at the time of his maiden hundred was Ajay Ratra, who was 20 years and 150 days when he made an unbeaten 115 against West Indies in St John's in 2002.

4 Pant is the fourth Indian batsman to reach his maiden Test century with a six after Kapil Dev, Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh. Earlier in the series, he became the first Indian player to open his account in Test cricket with a maximum.
