ICC announce Asia Cup 2018 schedule, India-Pakistan clash to take place on September 19.

Talking about the team participation,India,Pakistan,Sri Lanka,Bangladesh and Afghanistan are confirmed to play.While remaining spot is to be decided by the qualifiers.

Teams which will compete for qualifying in the Asia Cup are Hong Kong,Malaysia,Nepal,Oman,Singapore and UAE. The qualifiers will be held in India during semptember.The winner of qualifiers advance to group stage in the main draw.

Keeping the World Cup 2019 in mind,tournament will be played in ODI format. It was noteworthy that last Asia Cup was held in 20 over format in 2016 in Bangladesh.

India,Pakistan and winner of the qualifiers are placed in Group A.While Sri Lanka,Bangladesh and Afghanistan are placed in Group B.

Top 2 teams from both group will play a knockout.Eventually the winners will play the finals.

Tournament opener will see Bangladesh and Sri Lanka competing. Match is to be held in Dubai on September 15.Finals to be played on September 28 in Dubai.
