Balkh Legends have won the first edition of Afghanistan Premier League (APL) winning against Kabul Zwanan. In the final match of the first APL Balkh Legends beat Kabul Zwanan by 4 wickets in the Sarjaha Stadium.

After winning the toss, Kabul Zwanan elected to bat first but their batting lineup was destroyed by Qais Ahmed. Ahmed took 5 wickets conceding just 18 runs, with his brilliant spell Kabul Zwanan were restricted to 132/9 in the 20 over. Wayne Parnell and Colin Ingram contributed 21 runs each, Meanwhile Javed Ahmadi contributed 32 runs. Other players failed to score good performance and Kabul Zwanan were able to make just 132 runs in 20 over.

Chasing the medium target Balkh Legend opener Chris Gayle smashed 56 runs off 34 balls, Ryan ten Doeschate contributed 35 runs and Ravi Bophara unbeaten 32 runs, helped Balkh Legends to reach the target with 11 balls to spare loosing six wickets.

Qais Ahmed was elected man of the match for his brilliant spell. He was named the rising star of the nation in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup this year. He was successful to bag 14 wickets for his national side in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2018.

Congratulations to Balkh Legends for winning the first edition of Everest Premier League(APL). It was a fantastic tournament for the cricket fans. I enjoyed watching many games of APL, i was happy to see our star player Sandeep Lamichhane in this APL. I hope to see more players from Associate Nations next Year.
