For us cricket is a worship. Asia cup cup is going to start about nearly a month and this whole time will be celebrated as a festival in whole Asia. Asia cup is a prestigious tournament, played among the teams of Asia to prove their dominance in the region. Asia cup is an ODI formatted matches. The cup is scheduled to start from 15th September to 28th September. It is 14th edition of the tournament and third to be scheduled in UAE after 1984 and 1995.
The cup was scheduled to be played in India but was shifted to UAE on the proposal of UAE government in order to make a confermational participation of pakistan due to the ongoing poltical tension between India and Pakistan.
Asia Cup Trophy :
This trophy is a momento for the winning team. The trophy has been carved by the Asian Cricket Council(ACC).
Teams Participating:
1.INDIA:-(the unstoppable)
Let not their recent loss in England-India test series fool you. This team is lethal for one day internationals (ODIs). With 6 Asia cups in their pocket, this team is capable of bringing you all the excitement and emotions you could hope for.
Strengths: Batting (for sure). The wooden hammer of Kohli can chop-off the bowling stats of the opponents. They still got the wall (Dhoni) who is very strong at nerves even though Kohli is the captain now but, he has got Dhoni's back. Rohit Sharma is another key batsman with K. L. Rahul constantly adding up to the score.
Weaknesses: Unfortunately, for a long time the team is suffering from poor bowling attack. They put-up a high score and end-up defending it desperately. Especially, death bowling (After 40 overs) is a corner when you can tilt over the thrown.
2.PAKISTAN:-(the unpredictable)
Unpredictable" is the only fit tag for this team. With their recently gained high confidence with the winning cup from the last champion's trophy (mini world cup), the team is aiming to convert it to dominate the Asia by winning Asia cup.
Strengths: Fast bowling. For a long time the land is harvesting a large number of pace bowlers with a variety and class, with many a times the fastest bowlers of the world coming from Pakistan. The unpredictability part is actually implied on the batting side. Usually, they would disappoint with a poor total but, then comes a wave of "Wow" and you would find them throwing the ball out of grounds. Better watch for Mohammad Amir's, who has returned with a fast and disciplined bowling that it could pass by the batsman finding the stumps easily.
Weaknesses: Very often we see their batting failure at foreign grounds. But, Sarfraz (captain) is a solid nerves with a great hand behind the bat, and Fakhar zaman the new rising scorer can improve the batting side.
3.SRILANKA:-(self confident)
Team srilanka was considered highly talented side a few years ago but after the departures of experianced players the team in now in the regrowing phase. Their growth progress was seen in their recent series against proteas. So we hope to see the same performance in upcoming event.
4.BANGLADESH:-
Team Bangladesh is one of the toughside team of asia. Their long struggling experience has yeild them the experience to compete with other teams.
AFGHANISTAN :-
Team Afghanistan has proven their abilities in the international cricket by getting the full membership of ICC. Their dedication to the cricket has been the reasons for their sucess in the cricket. They are very well capable to compete with every one in the asia cup.
