Sri Lanka Cricket board is going to launch 'Lankan Premier League' in August. It will be a 5 team T20 competition which include both local players & International players. However player auction or the team names are not yet released.

Community spread of Covid-19 virus in Sri Lanka is almost over now. Sri Lanka have just around 1500 cases & half of them are Navy officers & foreigners returnees. Therefore Lankan Premier League tournament may not be affected by Covid-19, but still it will be played behind the closed doors.

Sri Lanka hosted it's only T20 league way back in 2012, Which named as Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) . It was an unsuccessful attempt from SL cricket board. After then they tried several times to organize this event but every occasion it was postponed due to various reasons.
