Nepali team goes to Malaysia to play U-19 Cricket event that will be started from July 2. Nepal is also the defending champion of the tournament. They defeated HongKong 2 years ago in the final to claim this title.
A total of 7 teams will participate in the tournament. Singapore and China are there with Nepal in the group A. Myanmar was there in the Group A but they informed that they will not be participating the tournament. Malysia, HongKong, Bhutan and Thailand are in Group B.
Binod Das said that Nepal will go for the win with all the efforts that can be made. The winner of the tournament gets selected to play U-19 Asia Cup which will be held in August/September in 2019. UAE and Kuwait are already selected from the West Region to play the tournament. Test teams India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are already selected to play the tournament.
Nepal will play its first match in July 3 Vs. China. They have their second match against Singapore in July 5. The match in July 2 Vs. Myanmar has been abandoned as Myanmar has taken their name back from the tournament. The semi-final will be played in July 8 and final will be played in July 9. Rohit Paudel will be the captain for Nepal in this tournament.
