After the long time, Nepali cricket team is all set to get their regular coach. After Pubudu Dassanayke left Nepal, there was no regular coach for Nepal. He was from Srilanka. After 4 years of this period, now Nepal will get a coach for their side. yAy !

National Sports Council has decided to appoint the Indian coach Umesh Patwal as the head coach for Nepali Cricket team. Umesh Patwal will receive a sum of rupees seven thousand usd per month. ICC will pay this amount to the coach. Umesh Patwal is in Kathmandu and this was a declaration made by the NSC by organizing the program. He is from Mumbai.

Due to the unavailability of Keshav Bista, the formal signatures have not been taken yet but the contracts have already been made. Nepali Cricket Team captain Paras Khadka, Team Manager Raman Shiwakoti and Umesh Patwal were present during this declaration.

He will be the head coach for Nepal for a year. His contract will start from June 10th and it will expire in 2020, June 10 unless it is renewed. Though Dassanayke was not the regular coach of Nepal, but he worked for Nepal side as a batting consultant upto the game against Netherlands in World Cricket League Championship in 2016. Pubudu was the coach for Nepal from 2011. In his tenure, Nepal played the T-20 world cup cricket in 2014. Before Pubudu, Roy Dias was the head coach for Nepal from 2001-2010. He was a Srilankan too.
