Failing to have any success despite possessing a home ground advantage against their opponents last summer, the Australians will be desperate to get some form of revenge on India who are one of the favorites to take out this years ICC World Cup in England & Wales.

It's India's series to lose as far as the punters are concerned, they're the red-hot favorites coming into the T20 Internationals, and for good reason. Unlike Australia, this country has been an unstoppable force in recent times on their home turf and have been one of (if not) the most difficult team to play as a touring side. Australia have had their reasons for their decline in dominance over the past 11-12 months, but at the end of the day that's no excuse for poor performances. The amount of quality players India have at their disposal is tantalizing, they've been able to trial different combinations regularly with minimal risk involved.

The first T20 International at Visakhapatnam later tonight is expected to be a showstopper with the amount of talent on display for both sides, however India knows this surface a lot better than their foreign opponents. India's top three batsmen will play another decisive role in this opening match, the talented-trio of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli could prove too much to contain. Each has a unique playing style but are all equally as destructive when they start to find the rope. Skipper Virat Kohli has proved to be the hardest man in International cricket to dismiss, so Australia's bowling attack must be at their very-best when India's captain walks to the crease. The Aussies aren't without a chance though, they've got some pretty handy bowlers at their disposal in the form of Allan Border Medalist Pat Cummins and leading BBL 08 wicket-taker Kane Richardson. Western Australian quick Nathan Coulter-Nile is another who has experienced a reasonable amount of success in the subcontinent which should give Australian skipper Aaron Finch some confidence.

India bat very deep though, MS Dhoni's elevation up the order as one of the best finishers of the game has given the likes of Rishabh Pant and Krunal Pandya a license to hit at the back end of their innings. Australia certainly has the potential to match them in that area of the game though, a couple T20I series back in the U.A.E Nathan Coulter-Nile was Australia's most consistent batsman at No. 8 against Pakistan. The problem the Aussies have is as dominant as this team looks on paper, it's failed to deliver on numerous occasions. BBL 08 player of the tournament D'Arcy Short was a force to be reckoned with for the Hobart Hurricanes, but even he couldn't find form on these Indian wickets in last seasons IPL. All-rounder & freakishly-talented stroke maker Glenn Maxwell must step up for the visitors, he's got the potential to influence a match just like Rohit Sharma.

It's going to be tough, really tough and the Australians would know that they're going to have to play out of their skin to bring down this powerhouse outfit. It's never a great scenario when you're the skipper of a team and runs have been hard to come by in recent times, but Aaron Finch must put that behind him and focus on the task at hand. Known for it's spin-friendly wickets, expect plenty of overs from Yuzvendra Chahal, Krunal Pandya, Adam Zampa and maybe even the likes of Glenn Maxwell and D'Arcy Short to chip in with a few overs if need be. An upset is unlikely, but by no means rule it out given the unpredictability of twenty20 cricket in this modern era.
