The Faceit Major London 2018 results turned quite expected, didn’t they? And you definitely wouldn’t say the same about The AnaLOOTics Cup, the international forecast contest devoted to the key CS:GO event of this fall. Get ready for a surprise. Two ordinary fans from Russia overcame more than 15 thousand other participants including such authoritative experts as Thorin, Sadokist, and ceh9.
In the Cup, participants were able to challenge each other as well as a bunch of guest stars for the Best Analyst title. Let me remind that the Major spectators made their predictions on the tournament alongside professional casters and commentators Duncan “Thorin” Shields, Matthew “Sadokist” Trivett, Arseniy “ceh9” Trynozhenko, Aleksandr “petr1k” Petryk, Frederik “GieTe” Albrechtsen, and Aleksey “xaoc” Kucherov. Participants could either make predictions themselves, or vote for an analyst’s version.
Nobody managed to cope with the whole dozen of tasks, as it was expected considering the extra complex questions within the “Hard Mode” during the last stage. The closest to the highest possible result were two Russian contestants with 8 correct answers. This allowed each of them to overcome all of the 15 thousand rivals including the experts and to receive the Best Analyst Cup. Congratulations!
As for the guest stars, xaoc with 6 of 12 correct forecasts became the most accurate of them. The second spot was taken by Thorin with 4 perfect hits. The other experts scored 3 points each. Nevertheless, the People’s Choice Award, another major trophy of the Cup, goes not to Thorin or xaoc, but to ceh9 who polled 30% of the votes. The silver and the bronze in this standings are for Duncan Shields and Aleksandr Petryk with 22% and 21% of the votes, respectively.
And now, take a look at some interesting stats of the Cup:
And here are some crazy forecasts from the Cup participants for dessert:
• As many as seven participants assumed that six teams from Asia would make it to the New Legends stage… but there were only three such teams at the Major.
• The same number of people supposed that eight players would perform more than one ace at the tournament.
• Three of the participants seem to be die-hard fans of Dosia’s (Gambit Esports) charm as they “appointed” him as the MVP in advance.
• Vega Squadron also didn’t remain without super loyal fans in the Cup as there was a participant who supposed that the team would win the whole Major.
• There were people who believed that terrorists would win 2 or 135 rounds in the Grand Final…
• …And two of the contestants predicted as many as 10 ninja defuses in the Grand Final.
The AnaLOOTics Cup is the first and the only event of its kind at the moment. It was organized by Livestream, a company known for its popular eSports betting platform Loot.bet, organizing and sponsoring CS:GO and Dota 2 tournaments, and for their cooperation with Starladder and such teams as Digital Chaos, Team Empire, and pro100. The event was sponsored by CS.Money, HyperX, and HP Omen.
With the finish of the Faceit Major London 2018 only the debut Cup ended. In the future, fans and professional eSports analysts will face new challenges. Stay tuned!
