Although I played PES 2018 just for two hours, maybe three, I was curious about the new PES, released in August. I tried the demo version, available for PC on Steam. The demo is also available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
It is quite generous, with 12 teams available, 10 clubs and 2 national teams: FC BARCELONA, LIVERPOOL FC, FC SCHALKE 04, INTER, AC MILAN, AS MONACO, C.R. FLAMENGO, SÃO PAULO FC, SE PALMEIRAS, COLO COLO, FRANCE and ARGENTINA. Matches can be played on two stadiums, Camp Nou and VELTINS ARENA. There are also three game modes available, Exhibition Match, Online Quick Match and Offline Co-op.
I did not pay too much attention to the settings and stuff, but I noticed two interesting buttons. One for quick changes when the match is interrupted and one for simple tactical settings.
I have played only three games so far , two with club teams and one Argentina-France, but I think it's enough to make a first impression. Graphics, dynamics and game play are definitely better. The players, the moves, everything seems very real. I can't wait to experiment closely those "Magic Moments" introduced this year.
It did not seem too complicated, but it doesn't seem easy either. Goalkeepers looks solid. Shots are hard to adjust, as well as tacklings. But nothing that can't be solved by training.
All in all, it's a nice experience and it's definitely worth trying. I'll come back with a more complete review after I try the full version.
