The main event of The International 2018 happens on August 20-25, 2018 where sixteen teams plays in a double-elimination format where the winner of the tournament will have the biggest chunk of the prize pool.
Currently Invited Teams : Virtus.pro, Team Liquid, PSG.LGD, Team Secret, Mineski, Vici Gaming, Newbee and VGJ.Thunder are waiting for the eight qualified teams of Europe, CIS, China, Southeast Asia and North America.
So far Winstrike Team got the CIS slot for winning against their skilled opponent ESPADA while on China Qualifer both Team Serenity and Invictus Gaming got the slot while eliminating the famous LGD.Forever Young in the qualifiers.
In North America Qualifiers VGJ.Storm dominates in the Group Stage and now having the opportunity to be on the upper bracket. Other known teams that are competing in North America are Evil Geniuses, Immortals and compLexity Gaming.
In South America Qualifiers famous team Infamous is eliminated really early in Group Stage. paiN Gaming and SG e-sports are now competing for the one slot for South America Qualifier.
In Europe Qualifier, Group Stage is still on progress where OG dominates with a six wins and no lose while team Alliance is trying hard not to get eliminated in Group Stage.
In Southeast Asia, still there is a huge competition between TNC Pro Team, TNC Tigers and Fnatic where they are striving for the two slots allocated for Southeast Asia.
Once all the team are complete, Valve the creator of Dota 2 will official announce it to their website.
Currently prize pool is now $14,972,070 and still steadily increasing. We have still around two months, and i am sure that the amount will increase more and more.
