After a week and a half of play, OG have earned their spot in Dota 2 history with a championship win at The International 8.
The grand finals victory over PSG.LGD not only earned OG the Aegis of Champions, but it also secured them the largest championship prize pool in esports history—$11,200,288.
The International 8 was the final tournament in the inaugural Dota Pro Circuit season, a system set forth by Valve that organized the biggest events into a 10-month schedule. Prior to The International, which featured a record-setting $25,455,199 prize pool, the DPC season awarded nearly $15 million over 22 events.
Evident by its massive prize pool, though, The International 8 was the grand finale of the DPC season. The best teams in the world gave everything they had, but in the end, OG came out on top.
