My first-ever drafting experience was a bit rough around the edges, but overall, I got the job done. My goal heading into the draft was to feel comfortable and assured that I prepared the best that I could and to confirm to myself that I did indeed select the players who resonated with me the most as well who showed the most shining potential for the '18-'19 season.

While slightly disappointed at not getting at least the first 5 draft picks, I tried to make the best of my 15th pick and shortly learned to take advantage of the swing order aspect to the draft; meaning that being that I was the 2nd to last member to pick I would then be 2nd to pick in the following round order. Due to randomized order, I realized that being among the last members to draft wasn't so bad, however, I wished I had polished my knowledge a bit more on how to use each draft/round pick to my advantages. Regardless, I kept my best foot forward and continued making the best informed decisions possible.

Below is a rundown of actions that I thought were my biggest mistakes as well as what I thought I could build and learn from as our fantasy season progresses:

[Much thanks to @mikey again for hosting this]:

Top Mistakes/Lessons:

  1. (-)*I failed to be fully aware to differentiate between how many positions are allowed to START/Pick Up from how many players of each position were actually allowed to be drafted. It was actually in the mid to late periods in the draft where I realized that at the bottom left hand of my monitor screen was the "0/16" players sign, (which indicates when my player's eligble would be full), was different from the actual amount of players I could draft for each position -"0/4 QBs, 0/8 RBs, 0/8 WRs, 0/4 TE...". Unbeknownst to me, I thought that one of the precursors for completing the draft was to completely fill each position, and so this may have altered my decision making for better or worse. Ultimately this mistake proved to be a lapse in my preparation, however, it was something I did not let diminish my motivations moving forward.

2. (-) While mistakenly skipping over two key players that were on one of my ranking lists  (Aaron Rogers and Leornard Fournette ,the #1 rookie to watch this season), I managed to hit at least 4 of my key and star players from several of my draft lists. (+) This was a  big plus to me. I will not share here who which of those players were but know at least 3 of them were on the incomplete list that I displayed in my previous post. Hopefully, for those readers who are speculating on the players that I hit , you will soon find out as the season unfolds - when they hit ya ; ).

My Top Expectations/Motivations:

  1. *Russel Wilson having a solid start and performance just like the one he had in his pre-season opener last week against the Colts.

2. *Eli- Manning (also one of my starting quarterbacks) showing us some more of his "Elite" side this season and helping my two Giants receivers, Shepard and Engram flourish.

3. *My top rated defense selections to wreak havoc against all of the star rookies and pros that evaded me during the draft. 'If I can't have them, then no one will' - this remains my motto going forward when I envision my defenses shutting down opposing star power from offenses.

4. *Most importantly: I'm banking on Adrian Peterson being picked by the Texans from Free Agency sometime soon or early this regular season. Adrian Peterson the man who held the record for most rushing yards in a game at 298 yds has always been a monstrous force for defensive lines for the majority of his career. My decision to drop who I dropped for him was influenced by Adrian Peterson's possible emerging leadership role that he might have with the Texans. Peterson has been quoted saying that he grew up and has family in Texas and so basically it was where every thing started from him.

Aside from the fact that my RunningBack depth chart may look a little exposed as of now, I can't picture more of reason for AP to join the Texans as he plans and to become a large contributing factor to my fantasy points down the stretch.

Sarah Barshop ESPN Staff Writer: Adrian Peterson said he thinks it would be a "perfect landing spot" to play in his hometown, Houston Texas. "It's always been my dream to come back home and play" - Adrian Peterson.

Good luck to all members in our Scorum league and also to those participating in other fantasy leagues. I hope that by sharing light on my fantasy league experience many will also become motivated to get their feet wet with this stuff. It actually turns out to be a lot of fun when you apply yourself and get behind your team.

Play inspired and stay motivated.
