Team Thompson arose from the dead recently by picking up two victories in a row for the first time this season. I won my last game by the skin on my teeth in a match-up I'm not too particularly proud of winning because my last opponent only had 7 out of 9 players to start for him. But a win is a win. Right?
What made my latest victory so sweet was that almost half of my team (including some premiere starters) were on BYE week so I had to scramble to make more adjustments than usual. It paid off. Didn't it? @janusviews
Never before has my teams point projection been as high as it is this season (123 points). I preached earlier this year that ESPN projections mean almost nothing to me, but overall, it looks like the stars are aligning and that Team Thompson is in rare form as we get ready to knock off Team Dudmuffin (@swolesome), one of the more explosive teams in my league.
Needless to say, I think Team Thompson needs to win out in order to secure a play-off spot in such a hotly contested league. Even if by some miracle I beat Team Dudmuffin I still have to worry about Team Awesome Dawgs (@robbijg), who is sitting pretty at the top with a 7-2 record (@La Mateos is #1 with an 8-1 record). If I can get past these two juggernauts in opponents the next two weeks I think I'll have a glorious finish to my first ever NFL fantasy season.
Perhaps critics will say that my head is too far up in the stars but I think I'm where I am supposed to be and feel confident. Regardless of what happens this Sunday and for the rest of the season, I want to thank @mikey one more time for getting me into this as it has been a rocky, but extremely pleasurable experience so far. Even if Swolesome does end it all for me this Sunday I remain grateful and I feel as if my football IQ has and will continue to increase dramatically while pushing forward with fantasy competitions in the future.
Thanks to @janusviews (Marcus Hayes) who has given me advice on numerous occasions through our communication on twitter. Again, I advise any fantasy newbies or others looking for some extra insight to give him a follow and/or reach out to him when you need help making a decision on who to start, bench or for other sports info.
Another special shout to @robbijg, who I will have the pleasure of dismantling 2 weeks from now because he's also another guy who seems to know-it-all and had rejected multiple trade offers from me earlier this season. While rejecting my offers, he also schooled me on some pretty important things about fantasy football that I had lacked serious knowledge in; so to come back and beat him would be a cherry on top.
Let me know what you think of my line-up for this Sunday (seen in the preview pic at the top) and other concerns/comments/suggestions. Or if you want to talk some smack then go ahead... I'm not trying to come back down to earth anytime soon.
Wish me luck.
