One more day before Bundesliga kicks off and we are in front of a brand new fantasy season.

This year, @acidyo is hosting a fantasy league here on Scorum that will have huge prizes. Last year we managed to raise 5000$ on steemit and now we aim much higher.

Please read the rules on their website because there are different from the premier league and you can develop different strategies. For example in every round you will have to pick a defender, a midfielder and a striker that will score 1.5x more than the rest of the team. The scoring sistem is also different, point are scored for shoots on goal, assist for shots on goal, duels won and so on.

Now i am going to present my team for this start of the year and my reasoning behind it. I will go for max budget for 11 players without havin anyone on the substitute bench as a strating palyers. This strategy is very risky because i have to pick only players that are guaranteed to be in the first 11 and we all know that at the start of a championship good players could be left on the bench.

Starting budget is 150 mil!

My chosen formation is 3-4-3.

Goalkeeper

My goalkeeper is Robert Zieler from Stuttgart that is priced at 12 mil.

One of the other options would be Manuel Neuer (14 mil), but i really needed those 2 mil difference to build the rest of the team. I am also glad that i had to do that, Neuer being my first option, but after reading the rules closely i found out that Zieler would be a better option for me. Goalkeepers score 3 points for a clean sheet, 3 points for every 2 shots keeped -2 if they lose with a 3 goal difference and -1 for every goal they conceed.

I looked at the stats from the last games of last year and Neuer does not get that many shots on the goal having such a good defense, on the other hand Zieler does get a decent amount of shots and he does keep a lot of that. So, i am counting here more on his ability to defend shots and to recieve as less as possible. Also, there is not that much of a difference of goals recieved between Bayern and Stuttgart 28-36.

Based on last year statistics, this would be -8 points and adding -14 because Bayern had 15 more wins totals -22. So, Zieler must accomplish 15 more saves to be even, and i think it is possible.

Defenders

Joshua Kimmich (14mil) is an easy pick for me, only 1 goal scored last year but 10 assist wich makes him a great addition pus Bayern get a lot of clean sheets and he also wins a lot of duels.

Niklas Moisander (10 mil) is a budget pick and i had to search for a team that has a decent defense, Werder Bremen coneding 14 goals end ending up on 11th place. I am betting that he wins a lot of duels and keeps a decent ammount of clean sheets.

Phillip Max (12 mil) with only 2% popularity even tho he got 2 goals and 12 assists, I consider him a gem in my squad.

Midfielders

Marco Reus (15 mil) is an easy choice for me because it is hard to know which of the Bayern Muchen players will start in the first 11 with the Injury they have and also a lot of competition in the midfield.

Axel Witsel (13 mil) i am taking a change here because i am not sure if he is going to start, i am picking him instead of Goetze due to the goal he managed in DFB Pokal. Also he is a defensive midfielder and does not fit exactly in my strategy but...let's hope it pays off.

Michael Gregoritsch (12 mil) is the best scoring midfielder from last year with 13 goals and 2 assists. We will se if Augsburg will be in a good form this year.

Nabil Bentaleb (11 mil) i wanted to also have a player from Schalke but i could end up having someone from Leverkusen too. At the moment of this writing i am not 100% that he will be on my team.

Strikers

Robert Lewandowski (17 mil) is a player that i don;t even think not having. Scoring almost double than the second place in the Bundesliga last year will be a gamble not to have and could let you fall behind right from the start.

Mark Uth (13 mil) is the number 1 striker for Shalke, scoring 14 goals and 8 assists last year. He has a decent price and is guaranteed to play every match.

Thomas Muller (15 mil) is the players with most assists last year (14) and also managed to score 8 goals. Bayern's attack is the most letal in the league and his pairing with Lewa works every time.

We all know that on paper every team looks the best but every season, there are players that don't have the same form as the previous year and also new players that stand up and are rising in the soccer ranks. It will be a long year with a ton of unpredictible events.

Players that i wanted but did not manage to get into the team because of price or other reasons.
