The second week is over and I must say that I am happy with my team's performance so far. Some guys make mad, but the whole team is fine, and the spirit in the locker room is excellent. I've previously stated that I wanted at least 69 points from GW2, but my guys had other ideas and added 17 extra points. So yes, I am a happy manager with 86 points, but I made some bad decisions as well. I am still 4th in the league which is alright, but I know that I can do better. Let's see where we stand at the moment.
Quick Tip: Tottenham will play 4 out of their next 5 games away. The only home game will be against Liverpool. Think before adding any Tottenham players to your team, especially those overpriced defenders.
Goalkeepers
The first major opponent that Manchester City will face is Liverpool on October 7th. So, don't even expect to see Hart coming off the bench until October.
Even though Manchester City conceded a goal, Ederson still managed to collect 5 points. One of the reasons why Ederson is the best choice in FPL is his abilities to make long passes. We had seen some of Ederson's magic when he passed the ball to Aguero this week, and I am sure that Ederson will make a few more assists this seasons. Also, he is playing on the best team. Do you still think that De Gea is worth 0,5mln more?
Fun Fact: Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge collected 13 points this week. Sadly, even Neil benched himself on his FPL team and let De Gea be a starter. I guess only his mom could have him as the main keeper.
Defenders
Daniels and van Aanholt rested this week, and I am happy with my decision. Both of them conceded goals and scored low points.
Robertson is still going strong. He failed to assist this week (there were are few chances), but all I wanted was a clean sheet. Everything else is a bonus. And this week, Roberston got 1 bonus points for his performance. That shows how much he does for the team. I am still thinking about Alexander-Arnold as he showed that he could cross the ball well against Crystal Palace, but for now, Roberston is still my go-to guy.
Mendy was my captain this week. I wouldn't be sad about this decision but... there is always a but. I have picked Mendy to be my captain instead of Aguero who banged a hat-trick. However, Mendy collected two assists and proved that he would be one of the highest scoring defenders in the league this year. Also, Manchester City should collect plenty of clean sheets. If you still don't have Mendy, what the hell are you waiting for?
Lindelof is my main concern and the reason why I am in the 4th position on SBC league. Lindelof played bad against Leicester, but that was not his lows yet. Og boy, the Swede was terrible this week, and the first goal was clearly conceded because of Lindelof. I am either benching or selling him next week as I doubt that Lindelof will see any playing time in the upcoming future.
Quick Tip: Alonso is the most expensive defender, but he has already collected 10+ points in the first two weeks. Chelsea are also looking great. You might want to consider getting him to your team if you have some extra money.
Quick Tip 2: Don't buy MU players until Mourinho gets sacked. I am pretty sure that will happen soon, and big changes will come. It is too risky to have MU players now, especially when MU are playing so terrible.
Midfielders
Mkhitaryan has shown some class against Chelsea. He was directly involved in both goals, and that added up to 12 points. Mkhi is still a value buy. Also, Arsenal have the easiest fixture for upcoming 8 games of all the Premier League clubs, so I am considering getting another attacking player from Arsenal as well.
Richarlison is my man. He only cost me 6.5 million and already scored double the points than I expected from him. Richarlison said that he wants to bring Everton back to the Champions League, become a top scorer, and earn his place in Brazilian national team. I doubt that any of these things will happen this year, but I love his attitude nonetheless.
Sadio Mane will be the top scorer for Liverpool this year, and I am not planning to sell this guy anytime soon. Of course, I got lucky that Mane scored that late goal, but he showed some wonderful moves throughout the game (of course, those moves were not efficient this time). I said it once and will repeat many more times - sell Salah, buy Mane and save some extra money.
Eriksen has to go. Tottenham will have a difficult upcoming month, and Eriksen doesn't look like a good player to have right now. I have no idea why I risked to have him on my team, but it did not pay off. Also, Trippier is stealing a lot of free-kicks from Eriksen, making the Danish superstar a bad player to have. If he was 2 million cheaper, maybe. As for now, I consider Eriksen to be one of my biggest mistakes this season.
I expected nothing from Jorginho. I got nothing. That was a fair trade.
Quick Tip: Take a look at your player's fixtures before deciding if you need him. This website is perfect for that:
Quick Tip 2: Crystal Palace is showing a great form and has some weak opponents ahead. Take a look at Zaha.
Forwards
I am yet to find out who the hell is that Kamara guy. Ok, to be honest, I have watched Fulham's game this week and can tell you that Kamara was not that terrible for a 4.5mil player.
Firmino is not in great shape, and I can see myself selling the guy until he recovers from the World Cup and realizes that the season has already started. I could barely see him on the pitch, and that is not a great sign for a forward.
I almost sold Aguero to buy Vardy last week. Oh boy, I am glad I did not make that huge mistake. The hat-trick against Huddersfield has cemented Aguero's spot in the starting XI and with an easy fixture to come, I believe Aguero will be the main favorite to win the golden boot after September.
Quick Tip: There are plenty of cheap midfielders who play a major role in their teams. Buying those guys open up a lot of space to get expensive forwards like Aguero or Aubameyang.
Quick Tip 2: If you see that your team sucks already, don't hesitate to use the wildcard now before it is too late to catch up with the leaders.
