Pickford's incredible error handed Liverpool a dramatic derby win over Everton last night. Substitute Divock Origi scored just a second before the last whistle to settle the match for Liverpool. With this win, Liverpool kept the pressure on the leader Man City as Liverpool is only 2 points behind than City after 14 rounds.
Everton had produced enough chances in the 1st half but they failed to convert it into scores. They had an admirable performance in the first half. They had some great chances so Liverpool had. Liverpool also missed and wasted all the chances they created. Salah was not in his form, actually, he is not like the previous season. Mane missed more than enough and Firmino was worse. Liverpool hasn't been scoring enough goals nowadays. They're having difficulties to score even against a team in the lower table. I'm afraid they may have a hard time with the away games they have next week. Liverpool needs a good holding midfielder, seriously they are struggling too much in middle. When it comes to quick passes and playmaking role, midfielders are not at all good. They just hold the ball and pass it back every time. Even Origi missed first chance and scored later from a yard. Everton created better chances than Liverpool with whatever possession they had. Liverpool players just don't know what to do with the ball in the final third except Mane. He is the most lovely but still not a good finisher. Firmino just wasteful on the pitch, now he only is good at putting pressure on the ball. But whatever the playing, I loved yesterday's result. 3 points are all important and Liverpool is the only true contender along with Man City.
City won few games last season with these late winners and Liverpool is doing this season. Liverpool could be more than capable of winning the league. Liverpool is struggling but still winning those games that they would have drawn or lost last season but now this season, for me, they are a true title contender and I really want to see Liverpool as a EPL winner.
