The Indonesia U-23 national team advanced to the last 16 of the 2018 Asian Games football sport with the status of winning Group A. The reason was that in the final match, the Young Garuda was able to beat Hong Kong with a score of 3-1, making Indonesia's points exceed Palestine. and Hong Kong. 

In the match against Hong Kong, Indonesia was actually 0-1 behind in the first round. However, in the second round Indonesia was able to rise and turn things around. The goals created by Irfan Jaya, Stefano Lilipaly and Hanif Sjahbandi ultimately made Indonesia win the match with a score of 3-1.

Indonesian national team coach, Luis Milla, revealed that the main factor that made his team able to rise was because of the support provided by the fans directly at the stadium.
